Purpose of the Program:
Purpose of the Program:
On Demand/weekly/bi-weekly, Private Homes@Silicon Valley
Spread the holy names of Lord in every town, every village of Bay area to fulfill the prophecy of Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu
Sweeten & deepen the relationship of the devotees with the Lord’s potencies
Create more kirtan talent in the ISV congregation, and further fuel the kirtan explosion
Kirtan combines chanting of a sacred mantra or spiritual sound vibration with melodious music that revives one’s original spiritual consciousness. The beauty of Kirtan lies in the purity of its chanting and as one experiences a taste for it, one simply yearns for more Kirtan, truly is an experience like no other!
At ISKCON of Silicon Valley, we are dedicated to bring the matchless gift of Kirtan Mellows to each and every home in the Bay Area. Our Founder-Acarya, His Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, commented on this in one of his books (Perfection of Yoga) as follows:
“In India there are sacred places where yogis go to meditate in solitude, as prescribed in Bhagavad-gita. Traditionally, yoga cannot be executed in a public place, but insofar as kirtan—mantra-yoga, or the yoga of chanting the Hare Krishna mantra: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare—is concerned, the more people present, the better. This can easily be performed in one’s own home, with a small group of friends or with many people in a large public place.”
